Folic Acid- Folic acid is necessary for the brain development of baby and so doctors suggested taking medicines for that but you can also take natural sources of same. Some of the names from them are fortified cereals, spinach, sprouted or cooked lentils, beans, broccoli, eggs, asparagus etc.

Calcium- Curd, milk, cheese are great sources of calcium that should be consumed on regular basis for bone strength and for microscopic cell process.

Lean Protein- Consuming foods rich in same would helpful in formation of umbilical cord, placenta and musculature of baby.

Fat- It is myth that consuming fat is just a waste because it makes you overweight but it is not completely true because some of the fats are required for survival. Like in place of vegetable oil you can use olive oil, canola oil which is in fact healthy.

Whole grains- Consume whole grains regularly because they would help the baby’s body to grow healthy and fit.
